Outboard Motor Covers America the words of the logo

(Don't be fooled by cheaper imitations)

One of the keys to making a good quality product such as marine products has to be the material. Many people have said to us they could make their own cover which in the real World is fine, but many don't consider what will happen to the material after being exposed to the elements for about 3 months.

Sun, sand and sea salt will destroy steel and even fiberglass so the material used to make any marine products has to be tough! That's why we have a material that is especially designed for this task and we are that confident in our product we guaranteed for 3 years against fading and rotting, even if your cover is in the sun every day of the year in the hotter climates such as Florida!

Dont be fooled by cheaper outboard covers made of vinyl

" Don't be fooled into a cover made of vinyl or worse "
Breathable fabric used to make these covers

" Polysoft® is a marine grade breathable fabric "

Vinyl is a plastic which may be cheaper to produce but placed on a outboard engine can have dire consequences. Imagine placing your hand into a 'plastic bag' for an hour in the sun...it will sweat right. The same happens on your outboard motor except the vinyl & or foam lining may stick to the cowling & either rip off your decals & may also cause corrosion.

At Outboard Covers we have taken the time to source a "breathable" fabric, which is necessary to maintain a healthy motor. When we say breathable we don't mean "air intakes" we mean the fabric breaths so moisture & condensation are not an issue. By the way we do cater for air vents as well!
3 year g/tee on all outboard covers against the elements!

"Polysoft® is our answer to these elements when making any marine products. It has been tested to meet the challenges of all our products, it will stand up to 300kg when trying to rip it. We have had some pretty big men trying to rip it by shear strength then even trying to stand on it and try and rip it with no success. Yet the fabric itself feels reasonably soft like a very light weight canvas, but without all the inherit problems canvas has.

"Polysoft®" is definitely not a canvas or a vinyl as both these products have problems when used in this application. As an example canvas has been the leader for many years but with high tech materials available canvas is slowly disappearing from the general market place. Canvas has a couple of down falls they are, shrinkage and expansion, fading and the rough heavy finish which when used in our application would scratch the outboard engine.

Vinyl is probably the worst of the two materials as it will sweat in the sun causing corrosion over time. As an example if you were to place your hand in a plastic bag in the sun for an hour it would sweat the same can be said with your outboard motor, but the time frame will vary. If you ever see a vinyl cover that has been on a motor for a reasonable amount of time feel the inside of the cover and you will probably find it will be wet with sweat. Vinyl is also very abrasive and get's worse with age. Neoprene has the same flaws as vinyl....it will sweat and stcik to your cowling causing damage!

What is "Polysoft®"?

In technical terms the material is a acrylic polymeric impregnated fabric......what? In other words it is a coated polyester that has a very high breaking strength, abrasion, mould and ultraviolet resistant. It also has good color fastness and lasting outdoor durability. In fact Outboard Covers offer a 3 year g/tee on the material that it will not fade or rot within this period, we also offer a 12 month limited warranty on our high quality workmanship.

We have sold covers all over the World & our reputation is second to none for service and quality which is what we set out to do from day one.

The material comes in 8 great colors which can be also put together as a 2 tone effect to help match some of the motor colors. We have also added a burgundy to help with the dust, this color will always be recommended when using your outboard motor, were dust is a problem. Cleaning our covers is reasonably easy too, you can wash our product in the washing machine but you can either simply hose it off or take it to your local car wash and give it a good clean.

*Colors on your monitor should not be used as the set colors, these are only a guide.
